PigCHAMP Pro Europa has done extensive R & D work in the field of applications of acute phase proteins in pig production. The innovative studies in this area began with the help of CDTI project "Determination of Acute Phase Proteins in pigs. Effect on productive performance, carcass quality and meat", in collaboration with the Universidad de Zaragoza and Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

Subsequently PigCHAMP Pro Europa participated, along with some of the leading European experts in the shared cost project QLK5-CT-2001-02219, "APP in pigs" which explored various aspects of the use of PFA as markers of health and welfare in the pig.

We currently participate in the Sixth Framework Program project "Q-pork chains Development of an innovative, integrated and sustainable food production chain of high quality pork products matching consumer demands" where we are in charge of the organization of pilot channels which routinely investigate the introduction of rapid tests for the determination of APP in the production system.
