The HEALTHWATCHER project gets the Eureka label

The HEALTHWATCHER project, that PigCHAMP will develop together with the Canadian company BeSeen BeSafe, has obtained the Eureka label.

This project aims to continue the development of a novel tracking system for the movement of people and vehicles around pig farms, in real time and under low cost, and therefore, minimize the incidence of diseases in intensive pig farms.

To this end, a new system of animal health surveillance for the pig sector will be developed to provide an effective local alert procedure and, implemented on a large scale, to provide a uniform regional / national surveillance system.

The aim is to demonstrate the value that this tool would have for the industry in the prevention of biosecurity failures, control of the dissemination of diseases and reduction of farm management costs.
